Digital marketing has become the go-to way to advertise in 2025, but your target audience doesn’t exist behind a screen. They are out in your local area, walking past posters, discussing their consumer preferences, and interacting with businesses just like yours. Every person that you pass in the street is a potential client, and all you need to convert them into loyal customers is the right resource that has been professionally printed by Russell Printers

Decide On Your Printing Requirements

The first step to take when switching up your marketing efforts and going for printed materials is to assess your campaign goals. This will help you to decide upon the right products to go for, including:

⦁ Leaflets to reach a wider audience.
⦁ Direct mail to re-engage cold leads.
⦁ Brochures to deliver information on your products and services.
⦁ Branded clothing to make a great impression.
⦁ Business cards to foster professional connections.
⦁ Updated company signage to encourage walk-ins.
⦁ Roller banners to stand out in a crowd.

All of these print marketing materials encourage interactions with your business, whether this in the form of traffic to your website, phone calls to your team, or visits to your premises. Don’t be afraid to get creative and try something new, and once you’re happy with your final design (and you’ve checked it for mistakes several times) it’s time to get in touch with us.

Start Your Printing Process

All you need to do to start your print marketing campaign with Russell Printers is to decide which of our services you require and to contact us directly.

We’ll then walk you through the following steps:

Get A Quote: All of our prices are available on our website but if you want a direct quote for a large scale order then we will require some information from you, including the number of pages, their size, the thickness of the paper, and your project deadline.

If you don’t know these exact specifications yet, then there is no need to worry. We will ask you all the relevant questions once you make your initial inquiry to help us secure the best price for your printing needs.

Save Your Artwork as A PDF: We ask all of our customers to convert their designs into a PDF before sending it to us. This is our preferred format as it delivers the highest resolution and embeds the images into the file, ensuring that the finished print looks just as good as the digital design.

Bring Your Artwork to Our Offices: Our sales and production offices are located in the heart of the city and there is free on-street parking available. We will ask you to save your design to a memory stick and bring it to our offices to allow us to check its resolution and quality but if this is not convenient for you then we also accept orders via email.

Confirm Your Delivery Requirements: We offer Same Day Printing on orders received before 11am, so provided that we receive your artwork before then you can come and collect your finished order on the same day.

Or, if you prefer, we can deliver it to your premises. We have our own liveried transport for our Same Day Delivery orders, and we use City Link for our overnight deliveries, and we will be able to discuss these options with you in more detail when placing your order.

It’s that simple. If you have any questions about our printing process or delivery options then please click here to view our FAQs or get in touch with our team before starting your order.

Professionally-printed business flyers are a great way to encourage customer engagement with your business and build up brand recognition. Though digital and social media have become increasingly popular in the modern world, business flyers remain a viable and effective marketing strategy. If you are thinking of including business flyers in your next campaign, or your ongoing strategy, this guide will provide you with everything you need to know about this effective marketing tool.

The Benefits of Business Flyers

Informative

One of the key benefits of business flyers is the amount of information and advertising that can be included in a small leaflet. Whereas social posts are confined to a few short words and an image, a flyer can include all of the key information about your business in one, easy to read place. This can include information about a new product or service, as well as all the information that potential customers need to get in touch.

Cost Effective

Business flyers are one of the most effective, low-cost ways to get your brand message out to a large audience. They are much less expensive than other forms of advertising, such as large scale campaigns and advertisements, and can reach many potential customers. This is particularly beneficial for small, local businesses, as they can reach potential customers and compete with larger businesses without costly campaigns.

Flexible

Flyers can be used in a variety of high-traffic areas, including handouts at trade shows, mailings, or posting in public places. Flyers allow you to specifically target your audience and can be distributed far and wide, particularly in places where your target customers are likely to gather. Whilst the success of social posts and written content depends upon the target audience being interested and engaged, business flyers are a physical reminder of your business and message that your potential customers can take away with them.

Crafting a Compelling Business Flyer

With the right design and finish, business flyers can be an invaluable part of your marketing plan and can help to boost the visibility of your business. Investing in high-grade printing is the best way to represent your business, as this will make a positive impression on your target market and reflect the high standards of your business.

At Russell Printers, we understand how important it is to engage customers with high-quality, professionally-printed business flyers. After taking the time to create an informative and eye-catching design, make sure that your flyers are ready to represent your brand by having them professionally printed.

Our flyer printing prices are available on our website or you can get in touch with our team on 0121 236 2784 to find out more about our flyer printing services.

For weddings, you may want a more luxurious feel with textured card and embossed writing.

While current restrictions on events may be limiting what you can plan for a loved one’s funeral, there are still ways to create a beautiful send off. Funeral order of service printing is all about adding personal touches, to commemorate that person’s life. It provides an emotional tribute, which showcases everything they will be remembered for and to provide guests with something to always treasure.

By committing to a sophisticated design, you can truly honour a loved one by crafting something special. Find out how to get started on a funeral order of service design below.

What to include

To keep your design respectful and sophisticated, consider the small things. Their favourite colour, their favourite song, quotes to live by or bible verses, photos of them during the happiest times of their life with their nearest and dearest. Ask family and friends if they have any photos if you are struggling to find any, you may be surprised by some of the memories you come across.

Consider all aspects of their life and the different relationships they had with people attending. Were they a doting parent, a beloved member of the community, a role model in their field of work? Note their achievements, favourite memories and most memorable quotes to create a small scrapbook of their life for family and friends to cherish.

Choosing a design

Traditionally, funeral order of service printing uses a muted colour palette to maintain a sophisticated design. However, if the person you are remembering was a vibrant character and loved being colourful, don’t be afraid to incorporate bolder colours! This can be through the illustrations, the text or the printing paper itself.

If you are using illustrations on your order of service cover, consider using them as photo frames and page borders. This will help to create a clean and clear layout, as something too busy may distract from the cover photo and details about the service.

Remember to use a font which is easy to read, especially if there are reading parts during the funeral service.

Knowing what to write

Most often, funeral order of service printing is to guide attendees through the service. As a guide, here are some details to include:

  • Date, location and time of the service
  • Verses being read out
  • Details about their life and family members
  • Quotes, lyrics or verses enjoyed by the person being remembered

Successful marketing isn’t just about having a presence online.  It is about effectively combining digital and traditional media to reach your target audience and get your message across.  One of the most impressive ways to showcase your product range or the benefits of your services is through using a brochure.  These multi-page printed materials are ideal for showing off your best project images, product reviews and special offers.

Effective brochure marketing

Get it right the first time, with our top tips for effective brochure marketing.

Know what your audience wants and include this in your brochure

Sometimes, as business owners, we can sometimes make the mistake of thinking our audience wants to know what we want them to know, rather than getting an understanding of what it is they really want.  By taking the time to understand the problems they might be having and how your products or services can be beneficial, you can formulate some insightful text for your brochure that really resonates with readers.

Create an inspirational front page that makes people want to look inside

Most brochures will include at least four pages, and whilst each page can contain helpful and interesting information, it is the front cover that will generally determine whether or not readers get any further.  Think about the information you can include on your front page to entice people to delve deeper into your brochure, for example:

  • Special offers and limited time deals
  • Pain points and how you can solve them
  • New products or services
  • Free trials of your service

Use your imagination to create an eye catching design

In a world of information overload, it can be beneficial to think outside the box, so your brochure stands out from any others that people pick up or receive through the post.  Think about what you can do to make your literature stand out, such as:

  • Shape of the brochure
  • Colours used
  • Great quality images
  • Logo and branding to create recognition

If your business already has a well established, well recognised colour scheme, it makes sense to carry this through your brochure, to help people recognise your brand quickly and even from a distance.  If you are a new business, or haven’t really made use of print marketing before, experiment with different design ideas until you find the one that reflects your business.

Make your brochure interactive

Think about the action you want people to take after reading your brochure – i.e. visiting your website, calling you, completing a form to return in the post, scanning a QR code or connecting with you on social media – and make sure your brochure makes it obvious and easy for them to do this.

Direct marketing is a type of marketing used to communicate information about your products or services directly with your selected target audience.  Some of the most commonly used forms of direct marketing are telemarketing, email marketing and of course, direct mail. Some forms of direct mail such as postcards, can leave you wondering how to fit your message in such a limited space, whereas others such as leaflets often triumph due to their flexible nature and adequate size.

leaflets for direct marketing

If you are thinking about launching a direct marketing campaign to make your target audience aware of the benefits of your product or service, Russell Printers can help.  Our DL leaflets are ideally sized to fit into an envelope and through the letterbox, plus we can turn these projects around quickly so you can strike whilst the idea is hot.

All you need now is some guidance from our print experts on how to design a leaflet for effective direct marketing.

What makes a good direct marketing leaflet?

Getting a leaflet right isn’t as easy as you might think.  People are bombarded every day with marketing messages that come through the letterbox, or into their inbox, making it difficult to stand out and get your message across. To be effective you need to think carefully about two elements of your leaflet – firstly the design and secondly the copy.

Top tips to make your leaflet design stand out:

  • Make good use of space in your design.  Less is definitely more.  People will be more attracted to a leaflet that clearly separates the elements and makes them easily visible rather than cluttering all of the available space with too much text and too many images.
  • Use good quality images.  You can make a much better first impression if you use high quality images, particularly if they are of your product or a project you have carried out as you will want to present these in the best possible light.
  • Keep branding consistent.  Make sure that your leaflet is in keeping with the overall look and feel of your business.  Using your logo, corporate colours and anything else that enables people to recognise your brand will help to ensure recognition and trust.

Top tips for writing an effective direct marketing leaflet

  • Be clear and concise.  To be eye catching and effective, your leaflet will need to have short, snappy sentences that tell readers everything they need to know.  Whether it’s a special offer, a new product launch or just a reminder that your service is available in their area, readers want to see a clear message that makes sense to them.
  • Avoid jargon.  Just because you understand the technical nature of your product or business doesn’t mean your target audience will, and they probably don’t need to know it either. Keep your leaflet copy clear of jargon, technical terms and anything else that people might not understand.
  • Feature a call to action.  Whether it is to pick up the phone and call you, visit your website or send back a response form, there needs to be a point to your leaflet – something you would ideally like the reader to do.  Make this call to action stand out by using a larger or different coloured font, or allocate a page of the leaflet to feature your call to action.

Of course, the effectiveness of your leaflet will also depend upon your choice of print.  For example the thickness of paper you choose and whether you opt for matt, gloss or silk paper.

As the Covid-19 pandemic continues, no industry can escape the impact, and perhaps things will never return to the same normal again.  That said, the situation also brings new opportunities, as the way we live our lives changes.

Print marketing has always been a vital part of the marketing mix, bringing important messages to life in the form of leaflets and flyers, posters and banners.

Print marketing

We believe that even in the middle of a pandemic, and with no exit strategy on the horizon, print marketing is more important than ever and here is why.

Captive audience

There has never been a better time to reach a captive audience, particularly for those businesses that make use of direct mail. Printed items sent in the post are almost guaranteed to be seen by at least one person in every household due to the current lockdown situation, and most likely to be shared and seen amongst other household members. People also have more time to absorb and follow up on marketing material, making engagement with your brand more likely.

Whilst only urgent and essential business is encouraged to continue as normal at present, with isolation and shielding likely to go well beyond the current lockdown, that increased captive audience is likely to remain for some time, which is good news for businesses when they can get back up to speed.

Therefore, with time on your hands now to plan your business approach in the coming months, don’t discount printed marketing materials at a time when they are more likely to be seen by a wider audience.

Change your approach

Now is the time to change your approach, particularly if you operate on a Business to Consumer (B2C) basis. With more people likely to be at home, print marketing such as banners and posters is not going to reach the same audience it used to, however, anything that can be delivered to people in their own homes is more likely to be successful.  Consider how you can make your printed materials more interactive – such as adding links to your online resources, including websites and social media channels – to encourage people to participate in a conversation with you whilst they have more time to do so.

Be remembered

Whether you can serve your audience’s needs now or not may not matter.  Just building your brand awareness and staying on the radar of your potential customers during these times of crisis may serve you well when things return to some kind of normality.  If your business has diversified during the Coronavirus pandemic, to help ensure the delivery of essential supplies or to support NHS and key workers to do their jobs efficiently, then print marketing is a great way to shout about this and showcase the good work you have been doing.  This shows your commitment to the community and your loyalty to your audience, by continuing to keep in touch.

The trusted channel

It may also be, and time will tell on this one, that people come to trust printed materials more than the messages they are reading online.  As the pandemic grows, so too does the unfortunate emergence of fake news, and untrustworthy advice. This may mean that people put more faith in what they can see printed, rather than the hasty messages from sources they don’t know, that appear on social media feeds and news sites.

If all of this has whetted your appetite to increase your print marketing, why not get in touch with the team at Russell Printers on 0121 236 2784 to find out how we can help put your message into print.

Wedding Stationery

In preparation for the most important day of your life, there is a lot to organise. Professional wedding stationery can contribute to the exciting build up leading to your big day. To create something special for guests to cherish, finding the perfect designers and printers is essential.

Once the details have been finalised, you can begin planning your wedding stationery. Save the dates and wedding invitations will kickstart the countdown and here’s how:

Save the Dates

As soon as your date is decided, it is time to send out your save the dates. This allows guests to mark the date on their calendar, as a reminder to keep that date open. Closer to the time they can RSVP with a wedding invitation, when they can confidently confirm their attendance. A lot can happen during the wait to a wedding!

Many people love to get creative with their save the dates to build excitement. A popular design is attaching your save the dates to magnets, to serve as a constant reminder on guest’s fridges.

Wedding Invitations

Wedding invitations are typically sent to all guests several months before your big day. With the design you can hint at your wedding theme and set the formality and dress code. It will also be time for you to expand on finer details, including the location and timings.

As well as informing your guests, a wedding invitation is their chance to RSVP to a seat down the aisle. Make this easy for guests, by directing them to a closed Facebook group or contact details to RSVP to.

Speech Cards

For a flawless wedding, you may want every last element of your day to be clean cut and top quality. Having speeches professionally printed, with designs matching to your wedding theme, can complete your wedding stationery. It will also prevent speakers from having to unravel scribbled paper from their formal coat pockets!
